Accused in Gauri Lankesh Murder Case Wins Local Body Election

Srikanth Pangarkar, who is an accused in the 2017 murder case of senior journalist Gauri Lankesh from Karnataka, has secured a victory in the Jalna Municipal Corporation elections in Maharashtra. Contesting as an independent candidate, he emerged victorious in Ward No. 13.

According to the results announced today, Pangarkar defeated candidates from major political parties, including the BJP, with a margin of 2,621 votes. Soon after the results were declared, he celebrated his win along with his supporters.
