The Telangana Government fulfilled its promise to farmers by releasing the first installment of Rythu Bharosa financial assistance. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy launched the fund distribution at the Rythu Bharosa Conference held at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad. In the first phase, ₹2,482.02 crore has been released for 41.37 lakh farmers, while the government aims to distribute a total of ₹9,000 crore over the next nine days. The programme was simultaneously viewed by farmers at nearly 1,600 Rythu Vedikas across the state.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the government has spent ₹1.75 lakh crore on the agriculture sector during the last 30 months, including loan waivers, Rythu Bharosa assistance, crop bonuses, insurance support, and agricultural infrastructure. He stated that the government is committed to strengthening the farming sector despite financial challenges inherited from the previous administration. He also advised farmers to adopt suitable crop patterns considering changing weather conditions and the possible impact of El Nino.
