Unexpected Twist in ‘DC’ OTT Release?

Tamil star filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘DC’ has emerged as a successful theatrical outing. Directed by Arun Matheswaran, the action drama hit screens on August 7 in Tamil and Telugu and received a positive response from audiences. The film’s reported ₹100 crore-plus worldwide gross has also attracted attention, particularly as it marks Lokesh Kanagaraj’s first film as a lead actor. Earlier reports suggested that the film would begin streaming on Sun NXT and Prime Video from September 4, with Sun NXT having already announced its release date.

However, a new twist has reportedly emerged regarding the OTT release of ‘DC’. According to reports doing the rounds in Kollywood circles, the deal with Prime Video may have been cancelled. This has led to fresh speculation about the film’s digital release plans. It is also unclear whether the Hindi version could still premiere on Prime Video, even if the Tamil and Telugu versions do not. An official clarification from the makers is awaited. The film stars Wamiqa Gabbi and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy in the lead roles.
