Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan enjoys good popularity among Telugu audiences as well. His latest film Parasakthi, with Sreeleela as the female lead, is a period-based movie that was released in theatres on January 10 during the Sankranti festival. However, the film failed to impress audiences as expected. The movie was directed by Sudha Kongara.
The film is now set for its OTT release. It has been officially announced that Parasakthi will start streaming on Zee5 from the 7th of this month. This gives viewers who missed it in theatres a chance to watch it online.
The story is based on a movement that took place in a village in Tamil Nadu in 1964. The plot focuses on conflicts involving students, villagers and a police officer after Hindi was declared the national language. Due to several controversial dialogues, the Censor Board suggested more than 20 cuts. The film was released in theatres only after the censorship issues were resolved.
