Pallaburusu Arrives on OTT Within Three Weeks of Theatrical Release

Annapurna Studios-backed Telugu rural comedy Pallaburusu, which arrived in theatres on August 14, 2026, with limited promotional buzz, is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The film has made its digital debut in less than three weeks after its theatrical release. In a move that could help it reach a broader audience, Pallaburusu is also streaming in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Although the movie did not make a significant impact at the box office, its OTT release could give it a fresh opportunity to connect with viewers.

Starring Sudhakar Reddy and Muralidhar Goud in the lead roles, Pallaburusu marks Uday Chauhan’s feature directorial debut. Set against the backdrop of rural Telangana, the story revolves around an elderly father who is advised to use a toothbrush. When his financially struggling son refuses to buy one, a seemingly trivial disagreement gradually turns into a village dispute, a police complaint and an unusual courtroom battle. The incident brings long-standing family resentment and the loneliness experienced by ageing people to the forefront. EPIC Studios has also backed the project, which features Prajwal Yadma, Gomathy Reddy, Kiran Macha and others in supporting roles. Pawan Ch has composed the music.
