Actor Suhas has emerged as a reliable choice for small producers, delivering minimum guarantee films and expanding his presence in both theatres and OTT platforms. His latest youthful comedy entertainer Hey Balwanth was released worldwide on February 20, with premiere shows held on February 19 across Telugu states and overseas, receiving a positive response from audiences. Initially titled “Hey Bhagavan,” the film’s name was changed to “Hey Balwanth” following objections from the Central Board of Film Certification, which led to mixed reactions within the film industry. Directed by Gopi Achara and produced by B. Narendra Reddy under Trishul Visionary Studios, the film features Shivani Nagaram as the female lead along with Naresh, Sudarshan, Vennela Kishore, Annapurnamma, and Ajay in key roles, with music by Vivek Sagar.
According to trade sources, the film has secured strong theatrical and non-theatrical business driven by Suhas’s track record and the film’s teaser and trailer response. Reports suggest that satellite rights have been acquired by Zee Telugu, while digital streaming rights have been bagged by ZEE5 for a significant price. As per the agreement, the movie is expected to stream on OTT approximately four weeks after its theatrical release, likely in the third week of March, though the date may vary depending on its theatrical performance. An official announcement regarding the OTT release is expected soon.
