OTT Blast This Week: 19 Releases Online, But What’s Happening in Theatres?

A new week has arrived, but theatres are not seeing much excitement this time. The Telugu film “Gedela Raju” is getting ready for release, but it has not created much buzz among audiences. At the same time, the biopic of Michael Jackson titled “Michael” and the latest Malayalam sequel “Vaala 2” are also set to release this weekend in Telugu dubbing versions.

In contrast, OTT platforms are packed with content, with around 19 movies and web series releasing between April 20 and 26. Telugu titles like “Pratichhaya”, “Bandu Melam” and “Lechindi Mahila Lokam” are drawing some attention, while “Happy Raj” is also expected to release this weekend. On Hotstar, shows like “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”, “Pratichhaya” and “24” are arriving. Netflix brings “Wrestle Mania”, “Unchosen”, “Hulk Hogan: Real American”, “Stranger Things: Tales from 85” and “Apex”. Sun Next streams “Lechindi Mahila Lokam”, while Zee5 offers “Bandu Melam” and “Xerox”.

Amazon Prime adds “From Season 4”, “Kevin”, “Killing Grounds”, “Happy Raj” and “Naughty Business”. Lionsgate Play releases “Greenland 2: Migration” and Apple TV Plus streams “Criminal Record” and “My Brother the Minotaur”. Overall, while theatres remain dull this week, OTT platforms are offering a wide range of entertainment choices for viewers.
