Not OTT! Kannappa Chooses a Different Digital Path

Manchu Vishnu's dream project Kannappa, which was released in theatres on June 27 last year, received a decent response at the box office. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film featured a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Mohanlal, Mohan Babu, Sarath Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal, and Brahmanandam. Although the Hindi version became available on Amazon Prime Video, the South Indian language versions were never released on OTT despite an earlier announcement.

In a surprising move, Manchu Vishnu has now announced that Kannappa will be released on the Ava Entertainment YouTube channel from July 3. The announcement has drawn significant attention, with many calling it a bold and unconventional digital release strategy. The film follows the journey of Thinnadu, an atheist who eventually transforms into a devoted follower of Lord Shiva after a series of life-changing events.
