‘Gandhari’ on OTT

Known for her women-centric films and diverse action roles, Taapsee Pannu is set to return with another powerful performance in the upcoming action thriller ‘Gandhari’. Directed by Devashish Makhija and produced by writer Kanika Dhillon under her Kathha Pictures banner, the film features Taapsee as Baani, a courageous mother who fights against unexpected challenges threatening her child. Set in the fictional city of Jaipura, the film also stars Ishwak Singh, Chhaya Kadam, Swastika Mukherjee, Meeta Vashisht and Jatin Sarna in key roles.

After completing its shoot, the film is heading directly to an OTT release. Netflix has officially announced that ‘Gandhari’ will premiere worldwide on September 3. The project marks another collaboration between Taapsee, Kanika Dhillon and Netflix following the success of Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba. Dhillon described the film as the story of a fearless woman who refuses to surrender to circumstances, while praising Taapsee’s performance as Baani. Netflix India also described the film as a powerful action thriller centred on a mother’s love and strength.
