Tamil actor and filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan is on a winning streak with his latest hit Dude. Released on October 17 during Diwali, the film received a massive response from audiences and grossed nearly ₹100 crore, marking Pradeep’s third consecutive blockbuster.
After its successful theatrical run, Dude is now gearing up for its digital premiere. Streaming giant Netflix has acquired the OTT rights for a record price, even before the film’s release. Following its usual short theatrical window policy, Netflix will stream Dude just four weeks after its release.
As per the latest update, Dude will start streaming on November 14 (Friday). The official announcement is expected any moment now. While this shorter release gap is great news for streaming audiences, trade circles believe it could affect the film’s box-office longevity and reduce the big-screen experience.
Directed by Keerthiswaran, the movie stars Pradeep Ranganathan, Mamitha Baiju, R. Sarath Kumar, and Hridhu Haroon in lead roles. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers (Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar), the film features a vibrant soundtrack composed by Sai Abhyankkar.
Pradeep Ranganathan’s next outing will be LIK: Life Insurance Kompany, a futuristic romantic comedy directed by Vignesh Shivan, slated for release on December 18. Post that, Pradeep is set to direct and star in his upcoming sci-fi project.
