Vijay Deverakonda’s younger brother Anand Deverakonda has been working hard to carve out his own identity as a hero. He made his debut in 2019 with the film “Dorasaani.” Though the movie received critical acclaim, it didn’t perform well at the box office. Later, he starred in “Middle Class Melodies,” which was released directly on OTT due to the COVID pandemic. The film streamed on Amazon Prime Video and received a very positive response from the audience.
Now, Anand’s next film is also gearing up for a direct OTT release. Anand Deverakonda plays the lead role in the upcoming movie titled “Takshakudu.” Actress Nitanshi Goel, who rose to fame with “Laapataa Ladies,” plays the female lead. The film is directed by Vinod Anantoju, who earlier helmed “Middle Class Melodies.”
The movie is produced by S. Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. The makers have officially announced that the film will have a direct OTT release on the popular digital platform Netflix, and will begin streaming soon.
The announcement poster shared on social media has generated a lot of interest. The poster carries the tagline:
“It began with greed… and turned into revenge.”
The first look poster of “Takshakudu” also features the line:
“In the hunter’s history, only the deer are guilty.”
In the poster, Anand Deverakonda is seen wrapped in a blanket, holding a gun in his hand. Reflections of burning huts and people running in fear can be seen on the gun’s surface. From the visuals, it seems like an intense action thriller.
It’s not yet clear whether the film was made specifically for OTT or originally intended for theatrical release and later shifted to OTT, but the first-look poster has definitely created a buzz among audiences. More details about the movie are expected to be revealed soon.
