

The Hyderabad Traffic Police has announced major traffic diversions in parts of the Old City and central areas in view of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti celebrations on Today 19, 2026. A grand procession will commence at 11:30 am from Puranapool Darwaza and proceed to the Shivaji Statue at Imlibun, where a public meeting will be held. Traffic restrictions will remain in force from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm around Madina, S J Rotary, Afzalgunj and nearby stretches. RTC buses from Shamshabad and Attapur towards Puranapool will be diverted at Aramghar towards Chandrayangutta, while vehicles from Aramghar will be diverted at Bahadurpura X Road towards Kishan Bagh and Kamatipura. Several other diversions have been put in place at City College, Puranapool X Road, S J Rotary, Afzalgunj and MJ Market to ensure smooth movement.
In the evening, another Shivaji Jayanti procession will be held from Hanuman Temple, Moti Nagar to Borabanda Bus Stop via Moti Nagar X Roads, Snehapuri Colony and Vijetha Theatre. Traffic congestion is expected between 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm in Borabanda and Moti Nagar areas. Citizens are advised to plan their travel in advance and use alternate routes. Motorists have been urged to cooperate with traffic personnel.
