Tension prevailed in Huzurabad town after a voter allegedly photographed a marked ballot paper and circulated it on social media. According to reports, the voter cast a ballot in favour of BJP candidate Dunnapothula Ellamma from Ward No. 2 and captured the image using a mobile phone. The picture was later shared as a status update and subsequently reposted by some BJP leaders, triggering local controversy.
Despite clear Election Commission rules prohibiting mobile phones inside polling stations, the incident has raised serious concerns over how the ballot image was taken and circulated. Local police have initiated an inquiry into the matter and stated that action will be taken based on a complaint filed by the polling booth officer. Authorities are examining whether election norms were violated and how the breach occurred.
