Yash’s upcoming pan-India film ‘Toxic’ has faced criticism over its promotional material, teaser and trailer. Some viewers accused the film of portraying women inappropriately and containing excessive sexual content and male dominance. Responding to the criticism, Yash said he has never supported vulgarity in cinema. He added that even intimate scenes should have limits and must be presented artistically.
According to Yash, ‘Toxic’ explores the differences in thinking between youngsters and their parents, questions about traditional norms and the emotional struggles of the younger generation. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film follows a drug-mafia backdrop and features Yash in a dual role. Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth are part of the cast. The film is scheduled to release on August 26.
