In a recent video shared on Instagram, she questioned certain traditional practices concerning women. Anasuya particularly spoke about the practice of women removing their bindi, bangles and anklets after the death of their husbands, and shared her thoughts on why such customs should be linked to marriage.
Anasuya revealed that her mother stopped wearing a bindi, colourful bangles and anklets after her father’s death, something that has remained on her mind for the past three years. She questioned why these personal choices should be associated with marriage or a husband’s life. According to her, whether a woman chooses to wear a bindi or bangles should be entirely her personal decision. Clarifying that she was not speaking against anyone, Anasuya said everyone should have the freedom to live according to their own choices. Her comments have since gone viral on social media, drawing mixed reactions from netizens.
