Dulquer Salmaan’s much-awaited film Kaantha has created a wave of anticipation ahead of its grand release. Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj and jointly produced by Dulquer and Rana Daggubati, the film is being hailed as a rare cinematic celebration. Featuring Rana Daggubati, Samuthirakani, and Bhagyashri Borse in key roles, Kaantha is said to be a fictional story inspired by the vibrant 1950s film industry. Rana revealed that the movie explores the creative clash between two passionate artists striving for perfection, with insights drawn from his father Suresh Babu’s vast studio experience.
From sourcing vintage equipment once used in classics like Patala Bhairavi to employing traditional hand-painting artists for posters, the makers went to extraordinary lengths to ensure authenticity. With renowned cinematographer Dani Sanchez-Lopez, who worked on Mahanati, bringing a grand visual style, Kaantha promises to be a visual treat. Both Dulquer and Rana expressed their deep love for cinema, calling Kaantha a dream project that will unveil director Selvamani’s unique vision when it hits theatres worldwide on November 14th.
