When it comes to star heroes’ films, audiences are just as curious about who plays the villain as they are about the heroine. Especially when it’s a Megastar Chiranjeevi movie — fans eagerly wait to see who will stand toe-to-toe with him on screen. However, in Chiru’s second innings, fans have often felt that he hasn’t had a strong, impactful villain to match his stature.
Now, it seems director Anil Ravipudi has finally found a powerful antagonist for the Megastar. According to reports, Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko, who made a grand Telugu debut with Dasara, will be playing the villain opposite Chiru in Man Shankar Vara Prasad.
After Dasara, Shine Tom Chacko had huge expectations, but his roles in films like Devara and Dhaku Maharaj didn’t quite click. Usually, Anil Ravipudi’s movies don’t feature intense villains — he tends to bring a comedic touch even to negative characters. So fans are curious how he’ll use a serious actor like Shine Tom Chacko this time.
Due to recent drug-related controversies, Shine’s film appearances had reduced, and he hadn’t been seen in Telugu cinema since Dhaku Maharaj. Now, he’s making a re-entry into Tollywood through none other than a Chiranjeevi starrer.
Man Shankar Vara Prasad is scheduled for a Sankranti release. Recently, the makers released the song promo “Meesala Pilla”, which has received a positive response despite some trolling. Legendary Bollywood singer Udit Narayan lent his voice to the song.
Actress Nayanthara stars opposite Chiranjeevi, while the film is produced by Sahu Garapati under the Shine Screens banner, with Sushmita Konidela (Chiru’s daughter) also part of the production team.
