What Did Saiyami Kher Say About the Pressure on Her Looks?

Bollywood actress Saiyami Kher is gearing up for the release of ‘Haiwaan’, a psychological drama starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles. Directed by Priyadarshan, the film is scheduled to hit theatres on September 11. During the promotional interviews, Saiyami opened up about the pressure actresses face in Bollywood regarding their appearance, clothing and personal style.

Saiyami revealed that early in her career, several producers advised her to change her appearance and dressing style to fit industry expectations. She was even asked to get rid of her naturally curly hair. However, she refused to compromise on her individuality, saying that following everyone else's expectations would make her feel like a factory-made Barbie doll. She added that staying true to herself and the values taught by her parents helped her land projects like ‘Haiwaan’.
