Janhvi Kapoor, who has been taking up back-to-back projects in Bollywood, has faced mixed reactions to her Telugu films. After making her Telugu debut with Devara, she appeared in Peddi, hoping to strengthen her presence in the Telugu industry. However, her role in the film has drawn criticism for being largely limited to glamour. Actress Aditi Balan has now joined the discussion, expressing disappointment over the way Janhvi’s character was written.
Speaking on a recent podcast, Aditi said she watched Peddi and felt Janhvi’s character could have been written with greater depth and significance. She questioned the need for such a weakly written role and suggested that giving the character more substance would have made a stronger impact. Known for openly discussing the importance of well-written female characters, Aditi’s comments have once again sparked a conversation about the representation of women in Telugu cinema.
