Vijay’s upcoming political action thriller Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth, is generating massive expectations as it is being touted as the star’s final film before he fully transitions into politics. Scheduled as a Sankranthi release on January 9, the film will hit screens in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Advance bookings for the Tamil version have already opened in several countries, with trade reports suggesting collections of nearly ₹15 crore so far, reflecting the strong pre-release buzz.
Meanwhile, speculation has been rife that Jana Nayagan could be a remake of the Telugu hit Bhagavanth Kesari. Addressing these rumors, director H Vinoth neither confirmed nor denied the reports, stating that audiences need not worry about whether the film is a remake or inspired by another story. He emphasized that it is a “Thalapathy film” and urged viewers to watch it without preconceived notions. The much-awaited trailer, set to release on January 3, is expected to bring more clarity on the film’s core theme and narrative.
