

In a series of heartfelt Instagram posts, veteran South Indian actress Tulasi who is well-known for her powerful mother roles in Telugu and Tamil films announced her retirement. Her choice brings an end to an incredible journey that lasted 58 years, starting when she made her film debut at the age of three months. She posted a picture of Sai Baba's feet along with a note thanking him and offering prayers, then she celebrated her new stage in life.
As she moves away from movies, Tulasi wrote about embracing freedom and following her gut. She wished herself a “happy retirement” in her heartfelt note, adding that this peaceful new chapter would begin with her next Shirdi visit. She disabled comments on the post and thanked everyone who helped her during her incredible career.
Tulasi started out as a child performer and later starred in well-known classics such as Seetamalakshmi, Sankarabharanam, and Mudda Mandaram. She took a hiatus after marrying Kannada filmmaker Sivamani, but she later made a comeback with standout roles in movies like Mr. Perfect, Iddaramayilatho, Dear Comrade, and the web series Oka Chinna Family Story. Her retirement formally ends an illustrious chapter in Indian cinema that lasted for almost 60 years.
