Director Venkat Prabhu has responded to reports surrounding the shelving of his proposed project with actor Sivakarthikeyan, popularly referred to as SK 27. Speculation had been circulating online that differences between the two led to the project being stalled. The rumours gained attention after filmmaker Ramkumar Balakrishnan officially announced another project with Sivakarthikeyan and completed its pooja ceremony. Addressing the speculation, Venkat Prabhu said Sivakarthikeyan has always been like a good friend and younger brother to him. He added that frustration over a delayed film can be natural, but he did not want to blame the actor, saying he may not have been aware of the complete circumstances.
Venkat Prabhu further said that he generally remains quiet about his professional matters and does not discuss them in detail with anyone, including Sivakarthikeyan. He clarified that the project did not materialise due to certain reasons and that there were no personal differences between them. The director said he would be happy to work with Sivakarthikeyan in the future if the right story and timing come together. He also urged people to stop the rumours and said he is currently focused on his next project. Venkat Prabhu additionally conveyed his best wishes to his brother’s son Seyon.
