Varun Tej Clarifies Controversial NTR Scene

A scene in Varun Tej’s ‘Korean Kanakaraju’ sparked controversy on the film’s release day, with NTR’s fans objecting to what they felt was a disrespectful portrayal of the actor. Some fans demanded that the scene be removed and that the team apologise. Responding to the issue at the film’s success event in Hyderabad, Varun Tej and director Merlapaka Gandhi clarified their intention. Varun said the scene was never created to troll anyone and was actually filmed last November. He also stressed that there is a clear difference between trolling and imitation.

Varun Tej said imitating celebrated actors is not something new and recalled that his earlier film ‘F3’ also featured an imitation of Kalyan’s ‘Vakeel Saab’. He added that promotional material for the film also included playful imitations of legendary actors Krishna and Chiranjeevi. According to Varun, these moments were intended purely for entertainment and were not meant to insult anyone. He maintained that there was no ill intention behind the NTR-related scene, thereby clarifying the film team’s position on the controversy.
