Tollywood star director Vamshi Paidipally’s film Varisu (released in Telugu as Vaarasudu) with Tamil superstar Vijay is about to complete three years since its release. Yet, he hasn’t announced his next film till now. After Maharshi, he shifted from Tollywood to Kollywood, and later set his sights on Bollywood. He tried hard to make a film with Aamir Khan, but it didn’t work out. Even then, he didn’t leave Bollywood and return to Tollywood.
He stayed there and approached another top star — Salman Khan. It looks like Vamshi’s film with this muscular superstar is almost finalized. This project is also set to be produced under Sri Venkateswara Creations, the banner that has been backing Vamshi’s recent films. One of SVC’s heads, Sirish, confirmed this news. Attending the IFFI Film Festival in Goa, Sirish revealed that the Vamshi–Salman film has been approved and an official announcement will be made soon.
Meanwhile, Sirish also confirmed ongoing efforts to make another movie with Powerstar Pawan Kalyan after Vakeel Saab. He said there definitely will be a film with Pawan, and details about when, what, and who the director will be announced soon. He also revealed that preparations are underway to remake Sankranthiki Vasthunnaam(Sankranthi release) in Hindi with Akshay Kumar as the lead actor.
He stated that their production house currently has around eight films in planning, and at least half of them will release next year. Sirish expressed confidence that SVC — which hasn’t seen expected success in recent years — will regain its former glory next year. While the banner faced a major setback during this year’s Sankranthi with Game Changer, the blockbuster success of Sankranthiki Vasthunnaam helped balance those losses. But mid-year, the banner suffered another major blow with Thammudu.
