Ahead of the grand release of Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s much-awaited action entertainer, 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh', the producers have made a significant decision to safeguard the film's reputation. In an effort to curb the growing menace of "review bombing" and organized negative campaigns, the team has temporarily disabled the ratings and reviews section on the popular ticketing platform, BookMyShow.
This move comes amidst concerns that pre-release negative ratings—often posted by individuals even before the first show concludes—could unfairly bias the general public and impact the film's opening collections. This trend of disabling digital reviews gained prominence earlier this year with the release of the Chiranjeevi-starrer 'Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu', where the makers sought legal intervention to prevent malicious online activity from overshadowing the film's actual merit.
By implementing this strategy, the team behind 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh', directed by Harish Shankar, aims to ensure that the movie’s success is determined solely by the genuine "mouth talk" of audiences who have actually experienced it in theaters. While this decision has sparked discussions among cinephiles, it is seen as a necessary shield for big-budget films to allow viewers to form their own unbiased opinions.
