Starring Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol and Katrina Kaif, the film was shot across Spain, India and the United Kingdom. Made on a reported budget of around ₹45 crore, it went on to earn over ₹153 crore. As the film marks 15 years since its release, director Zoya Akhtar has shared an update on the much-awaited sequel.
Interest in ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2’ grew after Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol and Farhan Akhtar appeared together in a 2025 advertisement. Speaking at the MAMI Film Festival, Zoya said work on the sequel is underway, while discussions are still taking place about how the characters should be portrayed. She added that the team hopes to make a film worthy of the audience if everything falls into place. Zoya also recalled how fans initially mistook the 2025 advertisement for a sequel trailer and later trolled her after learning it was only a commercial.
