Kannada actress Rishika Singh has voiced strong objections to the trailer of Toxic, starring Rocking Star Yash. In a video shared on social media, she criticised the film’s portrayal of women, particularly its bold scenes, romantic sequences and certain dialogues. Rishika questioned whether such depictions were appropriate and said women should be represented with greater dignity.
She also referred to the presence of leading actresses Nayanthara and Kiara Advani in the film, arguing that their stature deserved more respectful characterisation. Rishika particularly objected to a dialogue in the trailer involving a woman being asked about her “rate”. She questioned how Yash, who is a husband and father, agreed to content that she considers disrespectful towards women.
Rishika also raised questions about director Geetu Mohandas and Yash’s involvement in the project. While making her criticism, she suggested that the film should be more mindful of local cultural values. Towards the end of her video, she issued a strong warning that those who fail to respect women could face opposition in Karnataka, concluding with the remark, “I am also Toxic.”
