Toxic Box Office: Yash’s Star Power Overshadows Negative Reviews

‘Toxic’ has shown that strong star power can keep a film’s box-office momentum intact despite mixed reviews. Starring Rocking Star Yash and directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film arrived in theatres on August 27. While the movie received a mixed response from the opening shows, a significant section of Telugu audiences reportedly expressed disappointment on social media. Several reviews also gave the film a negative verdict.

Despite the criticism, the reported box-office numbers have been impressive. According to industry reports, Toxic collected more than ₹120 crore in India on its opening day and reportedly crossed ₹140 crore in worldwide gross. The Hindi version is said to have contributed around ₹55 crore, followed by ₹23.3 crore from Kannada, ₹16 crore from Telugu, ₹5.5 crore from Tamil and ₹1.3 crore from Malayalam. However, these figures are based on industry reports, and the filmmakers are yet to officially announce the Day 1 collections.
