Toxic Bookings: AP and Telangana Tickets Still Not Open

Toxic, the much-awaited pan-India film starring Kannada Rocking Star Yash and directed by Geetu Mohandas, is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on August 26. However, the film’s theatrical release in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has become a major talking point as advance ticket bookings are yet to open in several key cities. Even with just a few hours left for the release, tickets are reportedly unavailable on BookMyShow and other major ticketing platforms in the Telugu states.

The delay is reportedly linked to ongoing discussions between distributors and theatre managements over screen allocation, show timings and final agreements. Trade sources also indicate that discussions regarding special shows and proposed ticket price hikes in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are still underway. Distributors are reportedly waiting for the required government approvals before opening bookings. In contrast, advance bookings in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and overseas markets are said to be progressing strongly, with early-morning shows in cities such as Bengaluru and Mumbai witnessing significant demand. After the film’s pre-release event at Malla Reddy University in Hyderabad, expectations among Telugu audiences have increased further. Fans have been expressing their frustration on social media as bookings remain unavailable. According to distribution circles, clarity on the theatre and pricing issues is expected by Tuesday evening, August 25, after which BookMyShow bookings may open across the Telugu states.
