

The Tollywood Pro League (TPL), a unique cricket tournament featuring film industry personalities, is set to commence on February 13 at the Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad. The franchise-based league will bring together actors, technicians, and film professionals, blending cinema and cricket on one platform.
The league’s trophy and jerseys were unveiled on Sunday at HICC, Madhapur, in the presence of several prominent personalities. Legendary cricketer Kapil Dev, along with former stars Virender Sehwag and Suresh Raina, attended the event. Film producer Dil Raju, actor Sonu Sood, music director Thaman S, and actress Raashii Khanna were also present.
Adding to the excitement, Kapil Dev, Sehwag, Dil Raju, and Sonu Sood played a friendly cricket match during the event. Speaking on the occasion, Kapil Dev praised the film industry’s enthusiasm for cricket and described Hyderabad as not only a beautiful city but also a hub of rich cuisine.
Virender Sehwag said it was encouraging to see actors and technicians from the film industry come together to participate in a cricket league. Dil Raju explained that the Tollywood Pro League would feature both on-screen artists and behind-the-scenes professionals, highlighting teamwork across the industry.
The tournament will feature six franchise teams, with leading film producers acting as team owners. Actor Ashish Vidyarthi, director Anil Ravipudi, EBG Group chairman Irfan Khan, and TPL founder Vamsi also attended the launch event.
