Actor-director Rahul Ravindran has announced that he is permanently leaving X (formerly Twitter) after receiving abusive messages and death threats directed at his family. The controversy began after he responded to a social media user who questioned him about the Ketan Agarwal murder case and asked why films were not being made on issues affecting men. His reply triggered intense online debate, followed by personal attacks and threatening messages targeting his family.
Rahul revealed that he was deeply disturbed after reading messages threatening the lives of his children while casually checking his phone during a football match. He admitted that the messages left him angry and heartbroken but ultimately chose to step away from the platform instead of engaging with the hatred. His wife, singer Chinmayi Sripaada, publicly supported his decision by sharing his earlier views on mutual respect and relationships. The incident has reignited concerns over online abuse and the growing culture of targeting celebrities and their families.
