The action thriller L2: Empuraan, starring Mohanlal and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, emerged as a massive box office success. However, the film also faced controversy following its release over certain scenes. Despite this, it is reported that the story was concluded in a way that leaves scope for a third installment. Recently, director Prithviraj responded to Lucifer 3, stating that he would not step back due to controversies and confirmed that a third part will definitely happen.
He said that while L2 may not have appealed to everyone, his commitment to his work remains unchanged. Prithviraj added that he is frequently asked about the start of L3, but the project will only begin after completing prior commitments made to producers as well as aligning with Mohanlal’s availability. He emphasized that Empuraan was made strictly as per the demands of the story, with the primary intention of entertaining the audience. He also clarified that he is not making films for political purposes, noting that in the age of social media, such intentions do not require cinema.
