Tamannaah Bhatia and Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra’s ‘The Van Force of the Forest’ has recently hit theatres and is receiving an unexpected response in Bihar. Audiences are turning theatres into places of worship and performing Chhath Puja rituals. The reason is the film’s depiction of scenes related to Chhath Puja, one of Bihar’s major festivals. The movie also features ‘Chhathi Maiya’, a devotional song sung by the late singer Sharda Sinha, popularly known as the ‘Bihar Kokila’.
As the song plays, women are reportedly getting immersed in devotion inside the theatres. Some are leaving their footwear outside before entering, while others are performing rituals and distributing prasad near the theatres. A few women have also been arriving in traditional attire worn during Chhath Puja. With these celebrations, several theatres in Bihar are taking on the appearance of temples. The film’s team is said to be delighted with the overwhelming response.
