The entire Rajamouli family is known for its immense talent. His father Vijayendra Prasad is a celebrated story writer, while his brother M.M. Keeravani has earned legendary status as a music composer. Rajamouli’s wife Rama is a well-respected stylist, and his brother Kalyani Malik has also carved a niche for himself as a music director.
However, another brother, S.S. Kanchi, has not received the recognition he truly deserves. Kanchi gained popularity through the TV series Amrutham and later acted in several films. Recently, he received a good break with the film Little Hearts. Apart from being an actor, Kanchi is also a writer and director. He contributed to the story of Maryada Ramanna and worked on the writing of several other Rajamouli films.
He even directed a film titled Show Time, which unfortunately did not release. After that, he paused his directorial pursuits.
Now, Kanchi is making headlines by working as a writer for a major, sensational project—“Varanasi”, the upcoming film directed by Rajamouli with Mahesh Babu in the lead. Typically, Vijayendra Prasad is credited as the main story writer for Rajamouli’s films, even when others contribute.
But this time, S.S. Kanchi joins Vijayendra Prasad as a full story writer. The recent video glimpse even showcased both their names together. Kanchi’s strong command over mythology reportedly played a significant role in shaping the story.
For a talented man who never received the recognition he deserved, Varanasi might finally become the big break S.S. Kanchi has long awaited.
