Producers Jayakanth (Bobby) and Amar Bura shared that Gurram Paapireddy, starring Naresh Agastya and Faria Abdullah, is a unique dark comedy directed by their friend Murali Manohar, and the film is set for release on December 19th. They chose this offbeat genre for their debut to avoid routine storytelling. The film features notable performers like Brahmanandam, Yogi Babu, Raj Kumar Kasireddy, and Vamsidhar Kosigi, with Faria contributing not only as an actor but also as a singer, writer, and choreographer. Though the casting expanded their budget, support from producers Venu Saddi and Dr. Sandhya Goli helped complete the project. Confident in the content, the team finalized business deals carefully and believes the film will strongly appeal to audiences.
Producers revealed that the story explores how a group of not-so-smart people deal with a clever one, promising entertainment without preaching. Despite delays, budget increases, and challenges in business due to the absence of a star hero, they trusted the film and planned a strategic release in 140 screens, with scope to expand based on audience response. They ensured ticket prices remain affordable and expressed confidence that Naresh Agastya’s performance will elevate his theatrical presence beyond Mathu Vadalara. Releasing alongside a big film like Avatar, the team believes Gurram Paapireddy has its own audience and hopes the film receives strong support, marking the beginning of many more collaborations among the producers.
