Karuppu, starring Suriya and directed by R. J. Balaji, has finally released in theatres after an unexpected delay. The film, which was originally scheduled to release on May 14, faced last-minute cancellations due to unavoidable reasons, leaving the director emotional. Several celebrities came forward in support of the team through social media posts. After a 24-hour delay, the movie has now opened in theatres worldwide.
Production house Dream Warrior Pictures shared an emotional note recalling the challenging journey of the film. The makers apologized to fans for the delay and thanked audiences for their patience, love, and unwavering support. The statement acknowledged the emotional stress caused by the postponement and expressed gratitude toward fans who continued to believe in the project. The Telugu version of the film will release under the title Veerabhadrudu. Reports suggest that pending financial settlements linked to previous projects led to the temporary postponement before the film was finally cleared for release
