Veteran Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has made an interesting statement about his son Ahan Shetty’s film Border 2. He revealed that he has decided not to watch the movie until it crosses ₹500 crore in worldwide gross collections.
The film, released on January 23, has already performed strongly at the box office. Speaking at the Ideas of India Summit 2026 organized by ABP Network, Suniel Shetty shared his thoughts.
He said that even before the release, he wished for the patriotic film to reach the ₹500 crore mark and made a personal vow to watch it only after achieving that milestone. With the film currently nearing ₹489 crore, he expressed hope that it would soon cross the target, calling it a special moment for a father.
The movie features Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty in key roles. It is a sequel to the 1997 classic Border, in which Suniel Shetty had played a significant role.
He also mentioned that although he attended the film’s premiere, he chose not to enter the theatre due to his vow. Suniel Shetty remains confident that the film will soon cross the ₹500 crore milestone.
