Director P. Sunil Kumar Reddy’s intense film Cockroach, produced by B. Bapiraju under the Sri Lakshmi Pictures banner, has successfully completed its censor formalities. The Central Board of Film Certification has awarded the film an ‘A’ certificate. The makers have respectfully advised sensitive viewers and children to stay away from the film, considering its raw and intense content. The team has announced plans to release the film in the first week of March.
Cockroach presents a hard-hitting narrative that exposes the dark underbelly of a corrupt society, while portraying a surprisingly beautiful bond between a street-level sex worker and a contract killer. To maintain realism in violent sequences, real-life fighters were cast as actors. Abhilash Sunkara, Premson, and Naveen play roles inspired by real contract killers, while National Award-winning actress Teertha plays a key role. The film also features Meenakshi, Raman, Bugatha, Anji, Pradeep, Samudram Venkatesh, Mallika, FM Babai, Raju, Balaji, LB Ramana, RK Singh, Pooja, Potty Murthy, Prasad, Relare Raghu and Johnny. Music is composed by Pradeep Chandra, editing by Raghu, cinematography by Santosh, lyrics by Pratap, sound by Nagaraju, and fight choreography by Premson.
