Director Sudha Kongara has approached the Madras High Court over an alleged payment dispute related to her film Parasakthi. Starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sreeleela in the lead roles, the political action drama was produced by Don Pictures and reportedly crossed ₹100 crore at the worldwide box office within 11 days of its release in 2026. However, Sudha Kongara has alleged that the production house failed to pay the remaining ₹8 crore of her agreed remuneration, citing financial difficulties.
During the hearing, Sudha Kongara's counsel argued that the production company was proceeding with the release of its new film Idhayam Murali without clearing her pending dues. The Madras High Court directed the producers not to release Idhayam Murali until the outstanding payment is settled. The court also ordered that Parasakthi should not be released on satellite platforms until the next hearing in the case.
