Every teacher aims to make lessons interesting and engaging. However, some educators earn a special place in students' hearts through innovative teaching methods. Recently, a classroom session at IIM Ahmedabad became a topic of discussion on social media after a professor used movie scenes to teach a complex subject like statistics.
To capture students' attention, the professor used scenes from the film Dhurandhar as examples. Instead of explaining difficult concepts directly from textbooks, he connected statistical concepts with the movie's characters and situations, turning the classroom into an engaging discussion platform.
The professor explained topics such as cluster sampling and stratified sampling by comparing them with groups and characters in the film. Students said that the use of real-life examples made the concepts much easier to understand. A video of the session shared by student Prakhar Singh quickly went viral on social media, with thousands of users praising the professor's creativity. Many commented that education should not be limited to textbooks and that innovative teaching methods can make any subject interesting. Experts believe that such approaches can significantly increase students' interest in learning.
