Srikanth Odela’s Counter to ‘The Paradise’ Trolling

Natural Star Nani and director Srikanth Odela’s action drama The Paradise hit theatres on September 24 amid high expectations. Set against a raw and rustic backdrop, the film features Kaayadu Lohar as the female lead, with Mohanlal and Raghav Juyal in key roles. While the movie is reportedly performing strongly at the box office, some scenes, particularly those involving a dog, have drawn criticism and trolling on social media. Responding to the debate, Srikanth Odela said constantly searching for logic in every scene could prevent audiences from enjoying a film.

The director explained his point by referring to a scene from S. S. Rajamouli’s Magadheera, where a horse performs an exaggerated action after the dialogue “Dheera Baadshah.” He questioned why audiences accept such cinematic moments in one film but demand strict practicality in another. Srikanth clarified that he was not trying to belittle anyone and said cinema is ultimately about entertainment and experience. According to him, expecting real-world practicality from every scene is not always appropriate, and his comments have now become a talking point among moviegoers and industry circles.
