Sold a Mango Orchard to Complete the Film – Pranay Reddy

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s elder brother Pranay Reddy Vanga recently opened up about the financial challenges they faced while making Arjun Reddy. Speaking in an interview, he revealed that the family had to take a major financial risk to complete the film.

According to Pranay Reddy Vanga, after they decided to make Arjun Reddy, some producers came forward and agreed to invest nearly 50% of the budget. However, even after Vijay Deverakonda’s Pelli Choopulu became a success, the producers who had signed contracts did not proceed with their investment.

With the film still requiring funds for completion, the family was left with limited options. Pranay revealed that they eventually sold a mango orchard they owned and used the money to complete Arjun Reddy. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey, the 2017 film went on to become a blockbuster and later gained cult-classic status in Telugu cinema.
