Sobhita Dhulipala Makes Telugu OTT Debut with ‘Cheekatilo’!

Actress Sobhita Dhulipala, who impressed Telugu audiences with films like Goodachari and Major, is set to make her Telugu OTT debut with the crime-thriller film Cheekatilo. Directed by Sharan Koppisetty and produced by D. Suresh Babu, the film will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video from the 23rd of this month. Speaking to the media ahead of the release, Sobhita expressed excitement about presenting a fresh and emotionally driven story to Telugu viewers.

In the film, Sobhita plays Sandhya, a podcaster whose life takes unexpected turns. She described the character as courageous, self-driven, and emotionally strong, someone who chooses to stand by her beliefs despite challenges. Though the film appears to be a crime thriller on the surface, she said it is deeply rooted in emotions and delivers a powerful message about resilience and self-belief. Set entirely in Hyderabad, Cheekatilo features gripping twists and intense narration. Sobhita added that the role strongly connected with her and that the project also holds potential for a sequel.

Reflecting on her career, the actress said she chooses roles based on emotional connection rather than commercial calculations. She recalled beginning her journey in Mumbai after completing her intermediate studies and said she never limited herself to one industry. Having worked with acclaimed filmmakers such as Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, and Mani Ratnam, she expressed satisfaction with her diverse filmography. With Cheekatilo, Sobhita hopes to connect more deeply with Telugu audiences, adding that a dubbed Tamil film of hers will also release in Telugu soon.
