Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film “Parasakthi”, directed by Sudha Kongara, is generating strong buzz. The makers have officially confirmed a worldwide theatrical release on January 10, 2026, coinciding with the Pongal/Sankranti festive season.
Initially planned for January 14, the release was preponed by four days considering intense box-office competition. Set against the backdrop of the 1960s, the film is being made as a political-historical drama on a grand scale.
The film features Jayam Ravi, Atharvaa Murali, and Sreeleela in key roles, with Sreeleela making her Tamil debut. Music is composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar, while cinematography is handled by Ravi K. Chandran, making it a high-budget and technically strong project.
As part of a pan-India plan, the makers initially intended to release the Telugu-dubbed version alongside the Tamil release. However, due to heavy competition during Sankranti 2026 at the Telugu box office, they are reportedly reconsidering this move.
Sources suggest that while the Tamil version will release on January 10, the Telugu version may be shifted to the Republic Day weekend to secure better screen availability and audience reach. An official confirmation regarding the Telugu release date is still awaited.
