

The second meeting of the South Indian Film Producers Association (SIFPA) was held in Hyderabad on May 10, 2026, with participation from leading producers’ councils and film industry representatives from the Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada film industries. Representatives from various producer guilds and industry bodies discussed several crucial issues affecting the South Indian film industry.
Key discussions focused on rising production costs, theatrical exhibition challenges, OTT windowing policies, workforce coordination, film financing sustainability, and the need for stronger collaboration among South Indian film industries. SIFPA reaffirmed its commitment to creating a unified and structured system aimed at transparency, stability, and collective growth. The association also stressed the importance of stronger coordination with distributors, exhibitors, and buyers of film rights. The next SIFPA meeting is scheduled to take place in Kochi on June 14, 2026.
