Vijay’s highly anticipated final film Jana Nayagan is all set for a worldwide theatrical release on July 23 after completing its certification process. As the actor prepares to step away from films and focus on politics, expectations for the movie have reached unprecedented levels. The buzz surrounding the film has significantly influenced the release plans of several Tamil productions.
To avoid competing with Jana Nayagan at the box office, several filmmakers have revised their schedules. GV Prakash’s Immortal has been postponed to September 4, while Lokesh Kanagaraj’s DC has reportedly moved from July 31 to August 7 despite receiving an 'A' certificate. Keerthy Suresh’s Sathyavan Savithri and Sanjay’s Sigma are also expected to announce revised release plans, reflecting the industry's strategy to avoid a direct clash with Vijay’s farewell film.
