Science fiction, time travel and fantasy-based stories are steadily gaining popularity in Tollywood. Filmmakers and star heroes are showing increasing interest in creating new worlds and presenting unconventional narratives with advanced technology and grand visual experiences. Sharwanand, Nag Ashwin, S.S. Rajamouli, Allu Arjun and Chiranjeevi are among the prominent names associated with projects that are generating considerable curiosity.
Sharwanand had already explored the time-travel concept with Oke Oka Jeevitham and is now set to collaborate with Sreenu Vaitla on another science-fiction entertainer. Meanwhile, Nag Ashwin is expected to expand the science and mythology elements in the Kalki sequel. S.S. Rajamouli’s Varanasi, featuring Mahesh Babu, is also being positioned as an ambitious story that connects the present with the era of the Ramayana. Allu Arjun’s Raka and Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara are also expected to introduce audiences to distinctive fantasy worlds. Following the foundation laid by films such as Aditya 369, Tollywood’s growing interest in futuristic concepts, time travel and fantasy storytelling is creating strong anticipation for these upcoming projects.
