The death of actress Prathyusha created a huge sensation across the united Telugu states and the entire country. After a long legal battle led by her mother, the Supreme Court has now punished the accused, 24 years later. Soon after the incident, a young producer named Satya Reddy boldly made a film titled “Prathyusha”. At that time, it was known that sons of influential people were linked to the case. Despite this, he went ahead with strong determination and launched the film at Annapurna Studios with a big cast including Ankusham Ramireddy, Telangana Shakuntala, Customs Krishna, AVS, Ramya Sri, Iron Leg Sastry, Kallu Chidambaram and Tirupati Prakash.
The media gave the film massive attention, which created huge hype. However, out of fear, the hero, writer, lyricist and singers returned their advances. Satya Reddy then took responsibility himself as hero, writer, lyricist and singer to complete the film. Due to censor issues, 1100 feet of footage was removed and some scenes were re-shot before release. The film was released in Krishna and Guntur districts through Vyjayanthi Movies head Ashwini Dutt, which helped it succeed. In Vijayawada, fans honored Satya Reddy with a 50-foot cutout and gave him the title “Janam Star”.
Later, he continued making films based on social issues. He produced “Ukku Satyagraham” with revolutionary poet Gaddar against the privatization of Visakha Steel Plant. Now, he has moved to Hollywood and is directing an international film titled “King Buddha”, planned to be shot in 25 countries and released in more than 100 languages. With the recent punishment in the Prathyusha case, Satya Reddy and the film unit have expressed happiness.
