Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has achieved a significant milestone with her latest film Maa Inti Bangaram, directed by Nandini Reddy. The film has crossed the ₹100-crore mark at the box office, making it the first female-led film to reach this milestone, according to industry reports. The film received a positive response from audiences from its opening day and has continued its successful run in theatres.
Sharing a heartfelt post on Instagram, Samantha recalled the doubts that surrounded the film before its release. She revealed that an exhibitor had questioned whether audiences would watch a heroine-centric film, reflecting the challenges faced by women-led cinema. Samantha said meaningful change comes only when someone takes bold decisions and expressed hope that the film's success would encourage greater confidence in female-centric stories. The film's team celebrated the achievement with a surprise for Samantha, while actors including Kajal Aggarwal, Mrunal Thakur, Rakul Preet Singh, Lakshmi Manchu, Dia Mirza, Siri Hanumanthu and Navdeep congratulated her on the milestone.
