Pooja Hegde, who hasn’t been getting significant opportunities in Telugu cinema lately, has been receiving back-to-back offers in Kollywood, which has made her fans quite happy. She is currently working with Thalapathy Vijay in Jananayagan and has reportedly grabbed a role in Raghava Lawrence’s Kanchana 4.
According to recent buzz, Pooja Hegde was also considered for Dhanush’s upcoming film directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. Initially, the team is said to have planned to cast her as the female lead.
But reports now suggest that the decision changed at the final stage, and Sai Pallavi has been chosen instead of Pooja Hegde. Fans feel disappointed because such “last-minute misses” have been happening frequently in Pooja’s career.
Sai Pallavi already enjoys strong chemistry with Dhanush after Maari 2, especially with their chartbuster song “Rowdy Baby.”
At present, Sai Pallavi is busy with her major Bollywood project Ramayana directed by Nitesh Tiwari, where she plays the role of Sita. She hasn’t done many Telugu or Tamil films recently, and post Tandel, her name hasn’t been linked to any new Telugu project. She reportedly allotted major dates for the big-budget Ramayana.
However, sources claim she has signed Dhanush’s 55th film. Since she already worked with Rajkumar Periasamy in Amaran, she is said to have agreed to this project based on that positive experience. Pooja Hegde was initially considered, but once Sai Pallavi became available, the team is said to have finalized her.
Fans feel Pooja Hegde’s bad luck seems to be continuing even in Kollywood. Though the details of Dhanush–Rajkumar’s film are yet to be revealed, audiences strongly believe Sai Pallavi will deliver a powerful performance. Known for her careful script selection, Sai Pallavi hasn’t signed any new Telugu film after Tandel.
